Excellent comments Jesse! I totally agree…I mean, yes, I have used ONE, just one, auto-post thingy to Tweet when I'm surfing a certain TE….but since I had to change my Twitter pw, it ain't doing that anymore, and I figured well, that's really not my fave Traffic Exchange anyway, so why not just manually tweet now and then when I'm surfing a few faves? Sure, it takes a little more time..well, ok a LOT more, cos then when I log in I've gotta catch up on a few updates, reply to a few messages, etc. lol, but hey…..that's what it's all about, right? Making CONNECTIONS!
I checked this post out in the process of checking you out….thanks for the follow, and I have to say I will be happy to follow you back! That's right….I don't Auto-follow everyone, either.

excellent – saw it on twitter and retweeted – i think this makes a great point. for that reason i don’t use facebook or most of the other stuff. i use what i can manage since i am pretty busy – it’s called ‘real life’

re; ‘twitterfeed’ content – i find that i’d rather check the blog or use my feed reader to keep up to date on posts, than follow a blog on twitter that posts mostly ‘feeds’ of their posts. it gets to be redundant.

I think it just depends whether or not the person in question is more about allowing a mental voyeurism or focus on the great opportunity to network – networking would be communicating like your stating, but some people like just the one sided broadcast because they have an active enough person to person lifestyle — not to take that out of context to mean people who use facebook or twitter do not have a lot of contact between real people, but the usage of these services are based on what the person feels content with understanding the purpose of said service to be. I totally agree though that they are great networking tools, but some people don’t need networking as much as others.

Really cool neo-societic term though! Social Hologram – neat.

Spot on, Jesse. I’m not going to name names, but I can think of at least one A-lister who pushes the same feed through Twitter, Friendfeed, Facebook, and probably a dozen other places, and when he *does* respond to comments, you’re not even sure if it’s actually him.

(Still seems blindingly obvious whom I mean, even though I’ve edited that paragraph half a dozen times. Oh well.)

People can do what they want, of course, and the big guys only have so much time, but still, in my opinion it’s not good form. Like you, I monitor all the areas in which I’m active, engaging and responding where necessary and appropriate – that’s the social part of ’social networking’, after all. Anybody can just run off a ton of links. Takes that little bit more to follow them up. I’m busy, you’re busy, we’re all busy – ignore your readers at your peril.

Really enjoyed to vblog. I have semi-gulity But I think I engage as much as I inform. Most Tweeps – I have come to find acquire a following then go MIA. It’s weird. They are a little more than bots.
